On the afternoon of June 18, Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, met with Eric Xiandong Jing, chairman and CEO of Ant Group, and other guests attending the Internet Yuelu Summit 2023. They exchanged ideas on sharing new opportunities and seeking a new future for the development of the digital economy.

On the afternoon of June 18, Governor Mao had a discussion with Ant Group Chairman and CEO Jing, and other attendees of the Internet Yuelu Summit 2023.

Governor Mao thanked the guests for their long-term support of Hunan's economic and social development. He noted that, in recent years, Hunan has given full play to the important role of "comprehensive collaboration among enterprises, universities, and research institutes", and paid attention to amplify the driving effect of "industrial chain leader, chain chief system, and chain ecology". The province boasted strong digital infrastructure support, rapid development of digital industry, faster driving force of digitalization, and a continuously optimized industrial ecology.

Hunan's digital economy reached 1.5 trillion CNY in 2022, a year-on-year increase of 15.4%. It has maintained double-digit growth for five consecutive years and accounted for 30.8% of GDP. More than 100,000 5G base stations have been completed in Hunan. And the country's fifth big data exchange that was the only one in central China, has been officially put into operation. The province's total computing power surpassed 4,000 PF.

This year marked the tenth session of the Internet Yuelu Summit. It is hoped that all of the attendees may give full play to their own advantages; increase projects investment in Hunan; speed up technological innovation; and, highlight audio and video industry and advanced computing industry. Let us work together to advance digital industrial development and assist Hunan in building itself into a national digital economy innovation leading, clustering, and application area. Hunan will continue to optimize the world-class business environment that is market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized, and provide favorable services for all in Hunan, he added.

The guests remarked that in the past ten years, the Internet Yuelu Summit has grown bigger and more popular. It has become an important platform for the Internet industry to build consensus, drive innovation and development of the Internet industry, and foster exchange and cooperation among Internet enterprises. In light of the current situation, Hunan has proactively arranged three critical supports - namely, electricity, computing power, and power - to meet the region's needs. It has formed the first-mover advantage of guaranteeing computing power with electricity, promoting power with computing power, and developing the three powers as one. Meanwhile, Hunan's business environment has continued to be optimized and the digital industrial ecology constantly improved, with bright prospects for cooperation. They will further expand collaboration fields, increase investment and project layout in Hunan, and contribute to the high-quality development of Hunan's digital economy.
