The ground-breaking ceremony of Hunan-Hainan Cooperation and Co-construction Industrial Park (initial area) was held in Dongfang City, Hainan Province on August 20, 2023. The first batch of three projects started construction, with a total investment of about 1.7 billion yuan, involving construction machinery remanufacturing and other industries.

The newly-started projects were constructed by Sany Group, Hunan Xiangke Holding Group Co., Ltd., and Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. respectively. The Sany (Hainan) remanufacturing industry project, with an investment of 600 million yuan, plans to build a construction machinery maintenance center and a construction machinery remanufacturing center. Xiangke's Hainan special equipment sci-tech base R & D and manufacturing project, worth of 500 million yuan in the first phase, is expected to achieve an output value of more than 400 million yuan, and an output value of 1 billion yuan in five years. The 600-million-yuan Zoomlion Hainan International High-end Equipment Industry Project, strives to be completed and put into production in 2025.

At the ceremony, the Management Committee of the Changsha Area of China (Hunan) Pilot Free Trade Zone, the Dongfang Municipal People's Government, and five enterprises such as the Hunan Agricultural Development & Investment Group Co., Ltd. respectively signed framework agreements on project collaboration.

The Hunan-Hainan Cooperation and Co-construction Industrial Park is located in the Gaopai Port Area of Dongfang Port Industrial Park. It is one of the major projects for Hunan-Hainan comprehensive cooperation. Relying on Huna's high-end equipment manufacturing, economic and trade cooperation with Africa, and other advantageous industries, and combined with preferential policies offered by the Hainan Free Trade Port, it will be built into a "bridgehead" for Hunan's opening up and development and a "transit station" integrating global resources and elements.
