The 2023 "Exploring Hunan: A Culinary Adventure" tourism and delicacy experience season was launched on August 7. The first activity was held at Rongyuan Hotel on that day. More than 70 members of the exchange visit delegation from Taiwan region participated on the site.

Yang Haodong, member of the Standing Committee and also director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, attended and presented a certificate of honor of "Hunan Tourism and Delicacy Recommending Delegation" and a book of Hunan cuisine to the representative of the Taiwan guests.

Hunan's profound culture and long history have cultivated distinctive cuisine culture. A number of local dishes, such as meat fried with chili peppers, fish head steamed with chopped chili peppers, Changsha stinky toufu, red-braised pork, and Xiangxi cured meat, are must-eats for tourists.

This experience season is a part of the Hunan tourism and delicacy serial promotion programs, which will be held in 13 cities and one prefecture around the province. Ten themed banquets will be offered at Rongyuan Hotel, Jiusuo Hotel, and Hunan Hotel successively during the first stage. The delicacies, cooked by famous chefs from ten celebrated catering enterprises, will provide visitors with a culinary adventure with Hunan characteristics from the aspects of categories, background stories, rites, and connotations.
