The opening ceremony of the Second Hunan Tourism Development Conference and a cultural tourism promotion meeting were held in Chenzhou City on the evening of September 16, 2023.

Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, and Zhang Xu, chairman of the World Tourism Alliance (WTA), participated and delivered speeches. Li Dianxun, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, presided over the opening ceremony.

On September 16, the opening ceremony of the Second Hunan Tourism Development Conference and a cultural tourism promotion meeting were held in Chenzhou City. Secretary Shen attended and announced the opening of the conference.

Deng Xiuxin, vice president and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE); Duan Qiang, president of the China Tourism Association; Chen Yin, secretary of the CPC Committee and chairman of the China Tourism Group; Xie Jing, vice governor of Hainan Province; Wang Hao, CAE academician; and, provincial leaders Wu Guiying, Sui Zhongcheng, Xie Weijiang, Yang Haodong, Wu Lan, Peng Guofu, Qin Guowen, Xiao Bailing, and Guo Zhenggui, were present.

Governor Mao made a speech at the opening ceremony.

WTA Chairman Zhang gave a speech.

Various artistic performances were staged at the opening ceremony.

The "Dongjiang Lake Declaration" on sustainable utilization of water resources and green development was issued at the ceremony. Colorful art performances brought a cultural feast to the audience. Chenzhou City made a cultural and tourism promotion at the conference.

Before the opening ceremony, the guests also inspected major cultural tourism projects of Chenzhou City.
