Governor Mao Leads Delegation to Visit Laos

Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of the People's Government of Hunan Province, led a delegation to visit the Lao People's Democratic Republic between September 4 and 7, 2023. They met with Lao political leaders, witnessed the signing of projects, and visited Hunan entrepreneurs in Laos, to further deepen friendly cooperation and create a better future together. This was a concrete action to comprehensively implement the spirit of President Xi Jinping's important instructions on the building of a China-Laos community with a shared future.

Qu Hai, secretary general of the provincial government, accompanied him on the visit. Relevant officials of the Chinese Embassy in Laos and the Chinese Consulate in Luang Prabang attended.

On September 5, Governor Mao met with Bounthong Chitmany, politburo member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and vice president of the country.

On September 4, Governor Mao met with Boungnang Vorachith, former general secretary of the LPRP Central Committee and former president of the country.

On September 5, Governor Mao inspected the Nahai Substation constructed by TBEA Hengyang Transformer Co., Ltd.

On September 5, Governor Mao came to the Zoomlion Agricultural Machinery Flagship Store in the Modern Agricultural Industrial Park in Vientiane, Laos for inspection.

On September 5, Governor Mao came to the Hunan Chamber of Commerce in Laos and had a cordial discussion with Hunan entrepreneurs in Laos.

On September 5, Zoomlion and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) of Laos signed a memorandum of cooperation in Vientiane, Laos. Governor Mao, MAF Minister Phet Phomphiphak (2nd R, back), Zoomlion Chairman and CEO Zhan Chunxin, and MAF Inspection Department General Director Phouangphet Pouvang (1st R, back) witnessed the signing ceremony.

On September 5, Governor Mao and Vientiane Mayor Atsaphangthong Siphandone witnessed the signing of a letter of intent to establish friendship city relations between Shaoyang and Hadxayfong.

On September 6, Governor Mao inaugurated the China-Laos Vocational Education Industry-Education Alliance with Lao Minister of Education and Sports Phouth Simmalavong.
