On the evening of September 10, about 160 kilograms of hairy crabs produced in Changde's Hanshou were loaded onto an aircraft bound for Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This marked that Zhangjiajie Airport has resumed the export of fresh agro-products after a three-year suspension.

"Hunan's hairy crabs are popular in the Southeast Asian markets, such as the Philippines, Malaysia, and Thailand. This year, we have strived to expand business in Vietnam for the first time. Fortunately, Zhangjiajie Airport resumed the direct flight to Vietnam, which greatly facilitates our exports," said a manager of a supply chain company.

The exported hairy crabs were transported from Hanshou to Zhangjaijie by a refrigerated truck, and then loaded on to the direct flight. They arrived in Vietnam after about 4-hour flight, and would be offered on Vietnamese dinner tables when they are still fresh.

The manager said that, the stable operation of Zhangjiajie-Vietnam flights would be helpful to export business. Hairy crabs hit the market between September and November. It is estimated that nearly 100 tons of hairy crabs produced in Changde and Yiyang will be exported to Vietnam during these months this year.

Fresh hairy crabs hold high requirement for timely delivery. To ensure freshness of the products, the Zhangjiajie customs authority has coordinated in advance with the customs authority of the region where the exporter locates, and streamlined the customs clearance procedures for these products.
