The opening ceremony of the World Tourism Cities Federation Changsha Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit 2023 was held in Changsha on May 10 morning.

With the theme of "Gathering the Strength of Cities to Revitalize World Tourism", the summit was co-sponsored by the World Tourism Cities Federation and the Changsha Municipal People's Government. It includes an opening ceremony, keynote speeches, a forum of ambassadors, Mayor's Dialogue, release of research reports, thematic speeches, thematic forums, a promotion conference for tourism investment, and tourism B2B matching. It aims to gather the development strength of tourism cities and help the world tourism industry set sail again.

Initiated by Beijing, the World Tourism Cities Federation is the world's first global international tourism organization with cities as the main body. As an annual international event of the federation, the Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit has been developed into a comprehensive tourism industry platform for member cities and institutions to promote exchanges, strengthen cooperation, improve economy, and build consensus.

With the holding of the summit, Changsha officially joined the World Tourism Cities Federation and was presented a membership nameplate at the opening ceremony.

The Changsha Initiative will be released at the summit to make Changsha's voice heard in promoting sustainable tourism development.

The summit will also release the "Sustainable Development of World Tourism Cities in the COVID Context: the Research on Chinese Actions", which takes Changsha and other 9 cities as research objects.
