Deputy Secretary Li, on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, welcomed the guests. He noted that Hunan has an important position in China's regional economic patterns, boasting an enormous market, a sound industrial foundation, obvious transportation advantages, and rich scientific research and education resources. The province shares huge cooperation space with the Caribbean countries in such fields as construction machinery, rail transit, and modern agriculture. Hunan is committed to promoting a higher level of opening up to the outside world, welcoming all countries based on their respective supply capacity and demand potential for precise and pragmatic cooperation. He hoped that all members of the delegation could contribute more to the promotion of mutual friendship.

On behalf of the delegation, Jeremy Inniss, rotating head of the delegation and vice chairman of the National Education Committee of the Trinidad and Tobago People's National Movement Party, thanked Hunan for the warm reception. He remarked that in recent years, Caribbean countries have collaborated extensively with China in the fields of infrastructure construction and agricultural industry. He looked forward to carrying out more pragmatic cooperation with Hunan.
