Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, met in Changsha with Phan Anh Son, chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), and Yang Wanming, president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) on the morning of June 25, 2024. They came to attend the 12th China-Vietnam People's Forum.

Secretary Shen, on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, welcomed the Chinese and Vietnamese delegations. He congratulated on the 12th China-Vietnam People's Forum to be held in Shaoshan, and briefed the guests on the situations of Hunan Province. He noted that Hunan, in line with the important consensus reached by leaders from both parties and countries, has achieved fruitful cooperation results with Vietnam in economic and trade exchanges and people-to-people communication. The province is willing to work with Vietnamese counterparts in various areas, including economy and trade, industry, science and technology, education, and culture and tourism. By doing so, both sides aim to promote mutual learning and understanding, fostering mutually beneficial outcomes.

On behalf of the Vietnamese delegation, VUFO Chairman Phan thanked Hunan for its warm reception and congratulated Hunan on its achievements in economic and social development. He believed that holding the forum in Shaoshan is of great importance and special significance. Vietnam will take this opportunity to learn from Hunan's development experience, and further deepen exchanges and partnership with Hunan in developing the new quality productive forces and building the friendship cities. He also welcomed more Hunan enterprises to invest and prosper in Vietnam.
