Secretary Shen welcomed the guests on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government. He noted that, the session of last year proposed the goal of building Changsha into a global R&D center city, which received wide attention and positive responses from attendees and people of all walks of life. After a year of efforts, more and more R&D institutions have settled in Changsha. On the recently released list of the top 100 S&T innovation clusters by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Changsha moved up five places from last year, achieving the 32nd position.

Building Changsha into a global R&D center city has become an iconic initiative in Hunan's targets of building "Three Hubs".

This year marks the 11th session of the Internet Yuelu Summit. Themed "AI Converges in Xiangjiang, Digital Intelligence Drives Future", the summit is attended by hundreds of attendees, including academicians, experts, managers of top 500 enterprises, Hunan entrepreneurs, and high-level talents.

An opening ceremony, a Yuelu forum, and five thematic forums are being held, focusing on summit dialogues in five major areas—Hunan entrepreneurs and business; "culture plus technology" integration; new investment trends in the new era; industrial Internet; and, big model empowering digital economy.

The summit released a report on the achievements in building Changsha into a global R&D center city over the past year. Seventeen key R&D projects were signed on the site.

A number of prominent entrepreneurs were present at the summit. Xiong Xiaoge, chairman and founding partner of IDG Capital and Li Bin, chairman of Tsinghua Unigroup, delivered keynote speeches. Xu Zhijun, rotating chairman of Huawei; Zhu Gongshan, chairman of GDL Group; Yao Jingbo, chairman of 58.com; and, Xu Shaochun, founder of Kingdee Group attended.

Wu Guiying, member of the Standing Committee and secretary of the CPC Changsha Municipal Committee, delivered a speech at the summit.

Provincial leaders including Yang Haodong, Qin Guowen, Xie Jianhui, Zhou Haibing, Cao Zhiqiang, and Wang Junshou, as well as academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering such as Li Jiancheng, Li Dong, Liu Zhonghua, Chen Xiaohong, and Yin Yulong, were present.
