A media briefing on the 2024 Hunan Spring Festival Cultural Tourism Activities was held at the Hunan Cultural Center on January 29. It announced a variety of activities to be held during the Spring Festival, ranging from cultural art, public service, intangible cultural heritage protection, to leisure consumption and exhibitions.

Shang Bin, deputy director of the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, said this year Hunan will launch more than 280 art performances, more than 700 events at public cultural centers, 156 exhibitions at museums and memorial halls, 306 intangible cultural heritage shows, red or revolutionary tourism activities, and quality travel routes. In addition, a month-long campaign to boost cultural tourism consumption will be launched during the Spring Festival. A total of 187 activities will be held and 3.8 million yuan of consumption coupons will be issued. An array of folk custom activities with strong festive mood will be hosted at 23 cultural tourism towns across Hunan. Scenic areas throughout the province will roll out more than 200 offerings to woo tourists, with an investment of 10 million yuan.
