International Women's Day, also known as Goddess Day among Chinese netizens, is approaching. It is celebrated annually on March 8. To observe the special occasion, many scenic spots across Hunan are scheduled to launch diverse activities and preferential policies. Let's take a look.
Changsha
Yuhua Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall
On March 8, the Exhibition Hall will host "Legacies of Folk Crafts, A Celebration of Women's Culture." Female visitors are invited to visit the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Exhibition Hall, as well as ICH training centers, ICH workshops, and masters’ studios. They may also have the chance to try their hand at Nvshu writing, knitting, and other ICH items under the guidance of ICH legacy experts.
Window on the World

In March, the Window on the World will host "Sisters in the Flower-pinning Season," celebrating the period in spring when the people of Changsha enjoy pinning flowers in their hair. In addition, visitors can admire Yoshino cherry blossoms, the same cherry that grows on Mount Fuji, and can also enjoy a large sea of windmills.
From March 1 to 31, female visitors can enjoy discounted tickets priced at 159 yuan per person, a ticket package priced at 259 yuan for a pair of women, and a ticket package priced at 329 for a couple. All tickets are required to be purchased one day in advance.
Dawangshan
The first Dawangshan Traditional Chinese Temple Fair, part of Hunan's New Year folk festivities, will be held from March 8 to 11. The event will feature art performances, a display of Hunan products, delicacies, a flower fair, and an intangible cultural heritage bazaar.
Zhuzhou

Zhuzhou Fantawild Theme Park is offering discounted ticket prices at 149 yuan per person from March 1 to 7. The discounted tickets are available for admission between March 8 and 10. Fares for sightseeing transportation start at 129 yuan.
Shengnong Valley National Forest Park
Shennong Valley marks the dividing line and birthplace of the two major river systems of Hunan and Jiangxi. From March 8 to 10, all female visitors enjoy free admission to the park, and their accompanying male visitors can enjoy a 50% discount on tickets (fares for transfers are excluded).
Jiuxian Lake Scenic Area
From March 1 to 10, female visitors can enjoy a 38-yuan discount package covering admission fees and fares for sightseeing cars and cruises, and can enjoy a 20% discount on four major amusement projects: Jungle Adventure, Gliding, the Cliff Swing, and the Elite Battlefield. Tongxin Valley Hot Springs Villa offers preferential prices from March 1 to 10, and offers spring outing concessions from March 11 to 31.
Yueyang
Xiangu Rock Red Army Camp Scenic Spot
The scenic spot offers 38-yuan tickets from March 1 to 17.
Chunxi Town
Located in Pingjiang County, the town offers 38-yuan tickets from March 1 to 16.

Lutoujing Valley
Lutoujing Valley, located in Pingjiang County, showcases the longest forest drifting experience in Hunan Province. From March 1 to 10, Lutoujing Valley introduced a "buy one, get one free" promotion and set up a lottery booth at the starting point of the forest drifting activity, and all tourists are eligible to participate in the lucky draw by showing their tickets.
Chenzhou

From March 8 to 10, female visitors are granted the privilege of enjoying half-price admission to the Dongjiang Lake Scenic Area. Those who wear traditional costumes including Hanfu and cheongsam, those born in March, female model workers at all levels across the country, and women who hold the titles of March 8th Red Banner Holders and Role Models of the Position at the county and municipal level or above can visit route 2 of the Dongjiang Lake free of charge (including sightseeing bus fares). The admission procedures will be handled only at the entrance visitor center.
The tourism project themed on A Moonlit Night on the Dongjiang Lake offers a 50% discount on daily tickets and a 30% discount on night tickets from March 1 to April 30. More concessions are offered for chartered boat tours. On March 8, the scenic spot will hold an activity to draw ten random winners on the spot who will be presented with blind boxes, which offer exciting surprises. Some of the prizes include a free admission to the Dongjiang Lake Scenic Area Lake, an oil-paper umbrella, a fan, a power bank, an umbrella, a doll, and a fisherman hat.
