Foreign Tourists Mark World Earth Day in Zhangjiajie

At the Yangjiajie Scenic Spot, international visitors express their commitment to the environment and to promoting a low-carbon, eco-friendly lifestyle.

On April 18, the Yangjiajie Scenic Spot held a high-altitude pledging event to mark the World Earth Day which falls on April 22. 

Eleven international friends from all over the world were invited to the event, experiencing a series of fun activities, advocating low-carbon and eco-friendly lifestyle, and encouraging the public to take tangible actions in caring for the earth.

International friends make a pledge to the earth at a sightseeing deck at the Yangjiajie Scenic Spot.

Foreign tourists were enchanted by breathtaking scenery when walking along a winding footpath. They captured these lovely moments and beautiful scenery with their phone cameras. “Zhangjiajie is glorious,’ said Shen Mengdie from Thailand who was amazed by cloud-shrouded rocky peaks. “The scenery here is astounding and marvelous,” added Nambela from Zambia.

"I pledge to the earth in Zhangjiajie: less plastic, more sincerity." "I will add more green to the earth together with Zhangjiajie." International friends expressed their commitment to protecting the environment at a sightseeing deck at the Yangjiajie Scenic Spot. They called for residents and tourists from home and abroad to cherish the environment through actions.

International friends learn to sing Sangzhi folk songs.

The foreign tourists took a cable-car ride, enjoyed the scenery of stunning peaks, tasted local food, wore clothes of ethnic groups, learned to sing Sangzhi folk songs, and tried their hand at intangible cultural heritage workmanship. They had an immersive experience of Zhangjiajie’s folk culture and Hunan’s profound cultural heritage.
