Governor Mao Inspects Grain Production and Agricultural Sci-tech Innovation

Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, inspected grain production and agricultural sci-tech innovation in Changsha on October 9. He stressed the need to thoroughly implement President Xi Jinping's important discourse on the work related to agriculture, rural areas, and rural residents, firmly shoulder the political responsibility of food security, and combine what the country needs with what Hunan can do. Hunan should thoroughly implement the strategy of sustainable farmland use and innovative application of agricultural technology to increase farmland productivity, and continue to promote the innovation, popularization, and application of agricultural technology. The moves will help the province make new and greater contributions to ensuring food security and comprehensively promoting rural revitalization.

Vice Governor Zhou Haibing; Bai Lianyang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; and, Qu Hai, secretary general of the Hunan Provincial People's Government participated. 

Governor Mao checks the growth of low cadmium rice at the Xizi-3 Rice Variety Planting Base in Changsha County.

Governor Mao inspects cultivation of new rice varieties at the National Hybrid Rice Comprehensive Experimental (Changsha) Base, Changsha County.

Governor Mao learns about grain production at the "Four-High" Grain Production Pilot Demonstration Zone Chunhua Base. The "Four-High" refers to the four key aspects emphasized in the pilot demonstration zone: high standards, high technology, high quality, and high output.
