On August 29, a grand annual celebration of Miao ethnic minority—Ganqiu Festival—was held at Muli Village, Qiangongping Town, Fenghuang County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. This festival is deeply rooted in the time-honored farming culture of Miao ethnic people. Thousands of residents from surrounding villages, as well as tourists from afar, got together to celebrate the bumper harvest and share the joy.
More than 30 teams from within and beyond Fenghuang County staged singing and dancing performances to express their joy for the harvest, their heartfelt blessings to the Party and the motherland, as well as their aspirations for a brighter future.
Hustle and bustle scene was seen at the traditional Ganqiu fair which featured a dazzling array of local specialties. The Miao ethnic products particularly drew crowds for selection and purchase. The vendors' calls and cheerful laughter were blended, creating an atmosphere full of vibrancy and joy.
Being hosted for ten years, the Ganqiu Festival at Muli Village has become a brilliant cultural icon of Fenghuang County.
