An exhibition of cultural relics from the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region opens at the Hunan Museum on January 21, and will run until June 1. The exhibition was jointly launched by the Hunan Museum, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum, and Turpan Museum. A total of 158 pieces (sets) of precious cultural relics have been carefully selected for the exhibition, including metalware, pottery, fabrics, documents, calligraphy and paintings. The exhibition tells historical and cultural stories of Xinjiang from the aspects of natural environment, mode of production transiting from nomadism to farming, and prosperous material and spiritual civilizations.
