Secretary Shen, on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, welcomed the guests and briefed them on the status of Hunan Province. He noted that President Xi Jinping has attached great importance to the development of China-Africa relations, highlighting the overall positioning of China-Africa relations to the strategic height of all-weather China-Africa community with a shared future for the new era. Despite the vast geographical distance between Hunan and Africa, both sides have a long history of friendly exchanges.

In recent years, Hunan has seen increased exchanges and comprehensive cooperation with African countries, driven by the establishment of national platforms for collaboration with Africa in Hunan. These platforms include the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) and the Pioneering Zone for In-depth China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation. Hunan has become an important "bridgehead" for China's economic and trade partnership with Africa.

Secretary Shen expressed hope that the delegates would learn more about Hunan during their visit and actively promote exchanges and cooperation with Hunan in their respective countries and regions, to better achieve mutual benefits and win-win results.

Martin Mpana, Cameroonian ambassador to China, and Rahamtalla Mohamed Osman, permanent representative of the African Union to China, thanked Hunan for its warm reception on behalf of all the envoys. They believed that Hunan is an important window for African countries to know about China and deepen China-Africa economic and trade cooperation. The envoys remarked that they will continue to consolidate and deepen cooperative results through the CAETE and other platforms, jointly promoting common development and contributing to building the China-Africa community with a shared future.

Zhai Jun, special envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue, provincial leaders Wu Guiying, Zhang Yingchun, and Qin Guowen, and relevant officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended.
