Since 2012, General Ssecretary Xi Jinping of the CPC Central Committee has taken an inspection tour of 14 contiguous impoverished areas across China, visiting 24 poverty-stricken villages such as Luowan Village and Gujiatai Village in Fuping County, Hebei Province, and Yuangudui Village in Weiyuan County, Gansu Provincefor inspection and investigation. Thus, the nationwide anti-poverty campaign is in full swing, creating Chinese miracle in the human history of poverty reduction.

To document this historic change on the vast land of China and show the world the incredible feat of poverty alleviation in China, the Fifth China Fenghuang Folklore Photography Exhibition Biennial was organized by China Photographic Newspaper and People's Government of Fenghuang County under the sponsorship of the China Photographers Association, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefectureand Hunan Photographers Association. The theme of the exhibition is “Consolidating and Expanding Poverty Alleviation Achievements and Effectively Integrating It with Rural Revitalization”. Meanwhile, a joint photography exhibition named “Footprints--- the Road to Poverty Alleviation and Rural Revitalization for 24 Impoverished Villages”is planned to showcase with the unique power of photos the remarkable achievements made by all ethnic groups in their anti-poverty efforts and their firm conviction of rural revitalization as well as their sincere aspiration to a moderately prosperous society in all respects and a good life.
