The 2023 China Nanchang International Dragon Boat Race has come to an end at Jiulong Lake in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, according to the Changsha Municipal Sports Bureau on June 13. Changsha, a friendly city in Central China, was invited to participate in the race and showcased Hunan's dragon boat culture and spirit.

The race was guided by the China Dragon Boat Association and hosted by the Jiangxi Provincial Sports Bureau and the Nanchang Municipal People's Government. A total of 44 dragon boat teams participated. The participating teams included teams from counties or districts of Nanchang and the Greater Nanchang Metropolitan Area, teams of international friends, teams from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, teams from friendly cities in Central China, teams from the Yangtze River Delta, and a team from Miluo, the birthplace of dragon boat races. The race included two events: a 12-person 200-meter straight track race and a 22-person 500-meter joint race.

The Changsha dragon boat team, composed of 15 players, coaches and team leaders, was formed by the Changsha National Fitness Management and Guidance Center and the Changsha Dragon Boat Association in early May. On the first day of the race, the Changsha Dragon Boat team partnered with the Shanghai International Friends Dragon Boat team to participate in a 22-person 500-meter dragon boat competition. It competed in a 12-person 200-meter straight track competition on the second day.

The Changsha dragon boat team members were fully engaged in the race. They demonstrated Hunan's dragon boat culture and spirit and conducted in-depth cultural exchanges and communications with players from other regions.
