Fenghuang Ancient Town, located in central China's Hunan Province, acts as a crucial link between Hunan and Guizhou provinces. The old town is famous not only for its stunning landscape, but also for its ingenious use of terrain, which impresses many in the city planning field. Its building has shown to be very practical and scientific in terms of town site selection, layout design and city planning. The town walls wrap the ridges and stretch over the ranges, naturally following the undulation of the mountains, while rivers wind down the corridors before flowing out through the town.
